I agreeSince its inception in 2005, Midoco has been developing into the leading provider of mid-office software solutions for the travel industry. In 2018 alone, travel packages with a total value of approx. 11bn EUR were processed with the SaaS-solution of Midoco. Users of the software are international travel agencies both in the business and leisure field, online travel agencies, and dynamic travel package providers. Midoco is particularly strong with new ways of distribution, e.g. the IATA-NDC initiative. Not only are the conventional, GDS-based tools compatible with Midoco, but so are the new, NDC-based distribution systems, which allow direct sales of airline tickets and other components with the support of Midoco.
With the acquisition of Swiss Umbrella AG in 2018, Midoco supplemented its product portfolio with “Umbrella Faces”, which allows automatic synchronization of travellers’ profile data across the various distribution channels. The combination of Midoco and Umbrella Faces greatly simplifies the processing of bookings across conventional and new distribution systems, an efficiency advantage particularly important for business travel agencies. Customers in Germany, the UK and other international markets are already using the full Midoco software suite.
Afinum acquired a majority position in Midoco late 2016 and has been supporting the continued growth of the company in the following three years. A fund managed by LEA Partners GmbH, an investor specialized in software and technology investments, is the new majority shareholder of Midoco. Management and BID Equity remain shareholders of Midoco.
